Support Tucson International Academy — Arizona Tax Credit Donations

Thanks for supporting our students!

Support Our Students

Your generous donations directly impact the educational journey of children at Tucson International Academy (TIA). By giving to our public charter school, you help provide the resources, tools, and multicultural experiences our students need to achieve their college dreams and become future leaders.

Donations to Charter Schools like Tucson International Academy are Tax Deductible! Because our school is a non-profit corporation with a 501 C3 exemption, all donations are tax deductible. In Arizona, our state gives residents a direct $200 per person ($400 per couple) tax credit for donations up to that amount.

We appreciate any donation you may give our schools.

Programs Your Donation Supports

You may specify a program you would like to 'sponsor' or just make a general gift. We have many programs that make our school outstanding, such as:

  • Chinese language program taught to all grades, Kinder – 12th
  • Spanish language program taught to all grades, Kinder – 12th
  • Summer Foreign Country Travel Program, open to all grades
  • Daily physical exercise for all grades
  • A technology lab open to all grades every day

Tax Credit FAQ

What Do I Have To Do To Qualify For This Credit?
In the past, you had to file by December 31. But now, if you contribute to Tucson International Academy by April 15, you may apply the donation for your next year's taxes. The school will mail you a receipt with the school's tax code to verify your contribution. Then, when you file your state tax return you may deduct the amount you contributed.
Is a Charter School Considered To Be a Public School?
YES. A charter school is defined in ARS 15-101 as a public school. Therefore, contributions to a charter school in support of extracurricular activities are eligible for the tax credit.
What If I Owe the State at Tax Time?
If you owe the state money, you will owe less by the amount you contributed.
Who Can Contribute?
Any individual filing an Arizona state tax return.
Must a Taxpayer Have a Child At TIA In Order to Claim This Credit?
No. You do not need to have a child enrolled at TIA to claim this tax credit.
Can I Split The Money Between Schools?
Yes.

I ask you again to take these steps and take control of your tax dollars. What is a small amount to the state makes a huge difference for our school. All of us here at TIA appreciate your help.

Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Herrera
